Real Malona are a fictional Spanish football team in the British comic universe. The team have appeared in the We are United strip of Champ in 1984. The club’s name is a fusion referring to Barcelona FC and Real Madrid.
History
Real Malona were a typical Spanish side. In the summer of 1983 they signed Scottish striker Joey Syria but he had a disastrous 83/84 season with Real Malona finishing 2nd in the league behind their great rivals Badrid. They also reached the Copa del Rey final but lost to Badrid. Thus, Real Malona qualified for the Cup Winners Cup in the 84/85 season (like Cup holders Hamyern). In the summer of 1984, Real Malona played in the ‘’Mini European Nations Cup’’ in France, a 6-team friendly international tournament.
