Aestiva Software is a computer technology corporation that develops, manufactures, and licenses business process automation software products. Headquartered in Torrance, California, USA,[1] the company is the originator of HTML/OS.[2]
History[edit]
The company was founded on January 11, 1996, to develop and sell an HTML-centric operating platform for the emerging World-Wide-Web. The platform, was originally called Aestiva Overlays[3] and then was renamed to HTML/OS. HTML/OS includes a web programming language and 4GL database engine in a single integrated, multi-platform environment. The price for the engine has fluctuated between $799, $1499, and $4995. In 2010 a free version of the engine was released to the web development community. The engine is supported by Aestiva and the independent development community.[4][5]
As of the first quarter of 2010, the company marketed Aestiva Array, the development environment for the HTML/OS engine, and office automation products.[citation needed] The company fields business products in six distinct areas; Purchasing and Procurement, Expense management, HR and Operations, Inventory Management, RFQ and Quotation, and Time Tracking.[6]
