History[edit]

Republic[edit]

Republic was founded in 2016 after receiving funding and support from AngelList. The company launched their first Crowd SAFE campaign the same year, crowdfunding several companies at first after vetting them through compliant due diligence processes. Over 90 companies have since been funded on the Republic platform.[3].[4]

Relationship with AngelList[edit]

Republic is often misattributed as a subsidiary of AngelList. AngelList was Republic's first major investor, and many AngelList employees went on to work at Republic. Both companies operate separately from one another[5]
