Rima Faddoul

Rima Elias Faddoul (born January 9, 1969) is a Lebanese social activist and member of the Lebanese Order of Pharmacists[1] [2] [3] who has been advocating for autism since her son (Naji)'s diagnosis in 2007. Faddoul founded the Autism Association for Social Integration (AASI) in 2009[4], the nonprofit organization later became Openminds in 2012.[5] [6] [7] [8] Openminds was then known as the first nonprofit organization in Lebanon to combine spreading awareness and promoting employment, education, and research at the American University of Beirut Medical Center's Special Kids Clinic. [9] [10]Faddoul was one of the first to testify about her son's autism on national television[11][12] and to speak at numerous workshops and events held in her home country Lebanon. [13][14][15][16] Faddoul graduated from the Saint Joseph University and holds a degree from the Paris Dauphine University. She has three children, Yara[17], Jihad, and Naji.
