Roshan Salim (Urdu: روشن سلیم; born 12 September 1949) is a former player of Kenya men's national field hockey team. He was first selected to the Kenya field hockey team in 1968 when a 20-member squad went to take part in the Pre-Olympics Hockey Festival in Lahore, Pakistan in January that year.[1][2] Spain, West Germany, Singapore, Ceylon and Malaysia also participated in the tournament.[3]
Nairobi International Hockey Tournament[edit]
In March 1968, Kenya hosted International Hockey Tournament in Nairobi. The host country fielded two teams in the tournament i.e. 14-member Kenya (captained by Avtar Singh Sohal) and 17-member Kenya Lions (captained by Ezra Ayodo). Roshan was part of Kenya Lions.[4] Other teams in the tournament were Pakistan, West Germany, Uganda and Nigeria.[5][6] After this tournament, Pakistan field hockey team played a match with Kenyan Hockey Union (KHU) XI at Mombasa on 21 March 1968. Roshan was KHU goalkeeper in this match.[7]
Misses Olympics selection[edit]
Roshan missed selection to the Kenya field hockey team for 1968 Summer Olympics held in Mexico City. His name was among six stand-by players. Kenya field hockey team secured 8th position in these games.[8]
India and Pakistan tour[edit]
In February 1969, he got selection in the 16-member Kenya field hockey team. The team took part in the International Hockey Tournament in Lahore, Pakistan in March 1969.[9][10][11][12] Subsequantly, it visited India for 4-test match series and some side games.

Roshan played following matches for Kenya field hockey team as goalkeeper:
- Against Khairpur Zone XI at the Municipal Stadium, Sukker, Sindh province, Pakistan on 9 February 1968. Kenya won 1-0. Kenya's captain in this game was Olympian Avtar Singh Sohal[13]
- Against Guru Nanak XI at Shivaji Stadium, New Delhi, India on 28 March 1969. The match was drawn 1-1. Kenya's captain in this match was Olympian Avtar Singh Sohal.[14]
