Royal Match is a free-to-play match-three puzzle video game released by Dream Games. The video game was soft-launched in July 2020 in Canada, Turkey and the United Kingdom.[1] It's available on Android and iOS.
To progress through the levels of Royal Match, players must complete one or more objectives. These objectives are displayed at the start of each level and in the upper left corner throughout gameplay. Like other match-three games, the player must match three or more items of the same color to accomplish targets.[2] They will earn stars as they complete levels. The stars are used to complete tasks to help the player restore King Robert's castle. Coins can be earned by beating levels and various events in the game.[3] These coins can be used to buy power-ups, boosters, and more moves on a level.
Gameplay

Royal Match contains a single home screen that serves as the game's sole starting point. As in most match 3 games, the player must complete stages in order to gain stars and unlock additional elements that can be utilized to remodel a room or venue.
There are no advertisements or pop-ups promoting discounts on in-app purchases. Some elements, such as the rockets that alternate between vertical and horizontal at each turn, are static or differ slightly from the norm. The game grid contains boosts such as TNT and propellers. A propeller combined with TNT will cause it to cross the grid in order to strike the most objective points, in contrast, a Light Ball connected with a rocket will cause rockets to appear in all directions on the grid in order to clear the board with explosives.
The room to be furnished is shown on the main screen, along with the decorations that the player already unlocked.
A player can either join an existing team or form their own. To complete a team challenge, the player must outscore their opponents by accumulating the most points possible. In addition, there are other match-3 puzzle variations in the single player levels, such as levels where the player must save the king and where the constraint is a countdown to finish the level before King Robert faces danger, rather than the number of moves. There are also bonus levels that appear at the end of all levels corresponding to the area completions. The goal of the player is to collect as many coins as possible before they are out of moves.[1]
If a player fails to complete the objective of a level, they can either get 5 extra moves by giving up 900 coins or start the level all over. Failing the level's objective means that the player will lose one of their 5 available lives. Each lost life is replenished after 30 minutes and players in a team can ask their teammates for extra lives.

Events
In Royal Match, there are a variety of events that can be started by tapping icons on the main screen. Rewards are usually given incentives for competing objectives in a specified amount of time. The events include the following:
King's Nightmare
The King's Nightmare is a unique game mode that allows the players to play a somewhat different game than the usual game mechanics. The player must complete their objective within a specified time rather than having limited moves. The board arrangement is slightly altered, depicting the King in perilous circumstances. By completing the task, the player will be able to save the King from the dangerous position by receiving an item. For example, in one of the nightmares, the King is trapped in a water-filled glass box. After completing the mission, a hammer appears which the player can use to free him. Additionally, in-game boosters are unavailable at King's Nightmare levels.
Lightning Rush
Lightning Rush is a one-hour timed event in which five random players compete to see how many lightning bolts they can collect. They are given unlimited lives during this period. The top player is awarded several boosters. Lightning bolts are obtained by activating Light Balls to clear items off the board.
Sky Race
The Sky Race is a sort of competition in which a number of players are placed in a bracket. The first three players to complete 15 levels are rewarded with prizes.
Team Battle
Team Battle is a timed competition where 20 teams compete for coin prizes. When active, it can be seen as a HUD icon on the main screen, just like other events. Only team members are eligible to participate. Players must acquire shields by winning levels. Levels won will give the following shields:
Normal or Bonus Level: 1 Shield
Hard Level: 3 Shields
Super Hard Level: 5 Shields
Reception
Royal Match was analyzed to have a retention rate of 16.5% in a report by App Annie in 2021.[4] In 2021, Google Play's Japan division listed Royal Match in its Cute & Casual Category for the Google Play Best of 2021 awards.[5]
In May 2022, the game featured in #3 top-grossing in Puzzle in Google Play Store and has garnered 10 Million+ downloads on the platform.
