SCP: 5K (formerly known as SCP: Pandemic[1]) is a multiplayer co-op tactical first-person shooter video game developed by the American game development studio Affray Interactive.[2] Set in the alternate universe of SCP-5000 - Why?, players perform missions on behalf of various factions against the SCP Foundation, which has become genocidal and seeks the annihilation of humanity. The game is currently self-published through Steam, currently in Early Access as an open alpha.[3][4]
Development[edit]
Development of SCP: 5K, then known as SCP: Pandemic, started officially on January 20th, 2020, using the framework and software codebase of Squad (video game) from Offworld Industries[5] in Epic Games' Unreal Engine 4. On January 20th, 2021, exactly a year later, Affray Interactive announced they were "no longer using the codebase of Squad from Offworld Industries"[6] and were pursuing the development of their own first-person shooter framework still using Unreal Engine 4.
