SGTM, also known as the Sustainable Green Team (ticker: SGTM[2]),[3][4] is an American company that specializes in tree care, wood-based mulch, and other forestry-related areas.[5] It is based in the U.S. state of Florida.[6]
Background[edit]
The company is a wholesale manufacturer and supplier of wood-based mulch and lumber products,[7] operating throughout the Midwest, including the Ohio Valley and Southeast regions. They also provide arbor care, storm recovery services, and green waste services to municipalities and companies in the United States.[8][9]
SGTM has two wholly-owned subsidiaries, National Storm Recovery, a Delaware-based limited-liability company, and Mulch Manufacturing, Inc., an Ohio corporation that SGTM acquired in 2020.[8][10]
In 2021, Mulch Manufacturing, Inc, won a 2022 mulch packaging contract renewal with retailer The Kroger Company's Louisville, Kentucky division. The agreement continues the company's current contract to supply and service 114 Kroger stores.[5]
In March 2022, SGTM purchased the former Allen Logging Co. mill 25 miles south in West Jefferson County, a dormant 45-acre Interfor USA Inc.-Beaver sawmill site, for over one million dollars.
In September 2022, SGTM collaborated with Australia-based VRM Biologik Group to bring their soil moisture technology to the US to make HumiSoil and XLR8 Bio available for home gardens and lawns, which help to relieve water use in cities.[9]
Services[edit]
National Storm Recovery, provides arbor care, tree trimming, and storm debris clean-up and disposal services throughout the southeastern United States. In addition, National Storm Recovery, headquartered in Astatula, is a provider of disaster clean-up services to commercial and municipal customers. The company's divisions oversee all post-storm tree services, debris hauling, biomass recycling, and mulch manufacturing.[8]
SGTM's second subsidiary, Mulch Manufacturing, Inc., is a manufacturer of mulch and lumber. Mulch Manufacturing also creates proprietary mulch dyes, colorants, and coloring machines through its R&D division, Nature's Reflections.[5]
