Safety Track is an American technology company based in Belleville, Michigan, specializing in telematics products such as dash cameras and GPS tracking systems. The company serves commercial and public-sector fleets to enhance driver safety and operational efficiency. Safety Track provides solutions[buzzword] for various industries, including bus and taxi services, logistics, automotive services, municipalities, and heavy equipment.[1]
History
Safety Track was founded in 2002 by Jeffrey and Sue Stoker with the objective of enabling businesses to monitor fleet vehicles using GPS tracking technology and in-vehicle cameras.[2] Initially operating out of their basement, the company opened its first storefront in 2011 at 12900 Haggerty Road, Belleville, Michigan.[3] In 2013, Safety Track relocated to its current headquarters at 249 Main Street, Belleville, Michigan.[4]
Retired Products
In 2013, Safety Track introduced UCIT, a system offering live-streaming video from up to four cameras positioned inside or outside a vehicle. The system integrated GPS tracking for monitoring driver behavior. Live-streaming capabilities are now a standard feature in Safety Track camera systems.[5]
The S-911 Lola was a compact personal GPS tracking unit measuring 2.1 inches by 1.5 inches by 0.6 inches. It featured geofencing capabilities, sending alerts when the device moved outside predefined areas.[6]
Safety Track also developed The Avenger, a waterproof sports camera capable of operating under 50 meters of water pressure while recording in Full HD 1080P.[7]
In 2012, Safety Track launched the ST-911 Law Enforcement Bracelet, designed to provide alerts to parole officers when a subject crossed designated boundaries. The bracelet included integrated cellular technology, enabling two-way communication between the parole officer and parolee.[8]
Collaborations and Partnerships
The Owosso-based bus operator, Indian Trails, equipped all 62 of its buses with Safety Track's In-Vehicle Cameras.[1]
In 2018, Safety Track's dash cameras were featured in the PBS documentary 3 Seconds Behind the Wheel, directed by Jennifer Boyd.[9]
