Safwat Riad is a Brooklyn-based Egyptian interior architect.

Life[edit]

Riad was born on October 1st, 1986 in Alexandria, Egypt to a family full of architects and engineers. Riad credits Jean Michel Jarre's "The Pyramid's Millenium Sound and Light Performance" at the Pyramids in Giza, a multimedia production with a strong focus on ancient architecture, as an early source of inspiration. [1]

Career[edit]

Riad got his start in the industry at Krink as an artist assistant in 2008 and soon learned design-build technology applications such as 3D Rendering, CNC, laser cutting, and 3D printing processes. Riad combined these technologies with traditional carpentry and metalwork for his first commissions at Brooklyn nightclubs Bossa Nova Civic Club, Elsewhere, and 10 Hope. [2] [3]

Riad's work focuses heavily on nightlife and experiential event production. Venue clientele include Output, Brooklyn Mirage, Elsewhere, Ethel's Club, Bossa Nova Civic Club and Mood Ring. Event clientele include Red Bull, Chromat, The Brooklyn Nets and United Masters. [4] [5][6]
