Sagar Savla is an Indian-American computer science researcher and product executive.[1][2] He is noted[3][4] for his research in the space of machine learning and accessibility technologies such as the accessibility app Live Transcribe.[5][6] The app has over 500 million installs on the Play Store.[7] His talks have also been featured at Consumer Electronics Show[8] and Nordic Media Days.[9]

Education and career[edit]

Savla studied computer science under Thad Starner at Georgia Institute of Technology. While there, he won the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation Award[10] for his work on Career Hive.

Savla joined Google in 2016 in the research group working on TensorFlow[11] and work with Richard F. Lyon on sound recognition and Vint Cerf on artificial intelligence in accessibility.[12] In 2019, he co-invented the Live Transcribe app.[13] In 2020, he launched another Android Hearing Accessibility app called Sound Notifications.[14]

Personal life[edit]

Savla is also known to be an early pioneer to do an "internet wedding" in 2019, with 30 hours of video calls with guests from around the world.[15][16]
