Sakuma Exports Limited (SEL) is an Indian Conglomerate of Star Trading House who deals in Agro Commodities headquartered in Mumbai. The Company was founded by Late Mr. Chander Mohan Malhotra. Eventually in the year 2005 SEL was incorporated as a Public limited company.

SEL is engaged in import & export of commodities mainly Sugar, Edible Oils, Oil Seeds, Pulses, Cotton and a number of specialty crops.

Sakuma Exports Limited reported a Net Profit of Rs. 11.05 Cr. in September 2018 Quarter i.e. 116.95% Increase from Rs. 5.10 Cr. in September 2017 Quarter..[1]

About Company[edit]

Sakuma Exports Limited started its business on 1 December 1998 under the leadership of Late Mr. Chander Mohan Malhotra. In the year 1998-99, SEL was registered as a partnership firm which later on 31 August 2005 was incorporated as a Public limited company.

Except trading of commodities, SEL is engaged in wind power generation (two windmills at Kutch, Gujarat) and production of polypropylene (P.P) bags.[2]

2001 : Merchant Exporter awarded by the Agriculture and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (Ministry of Commerce, Government of India) in January 2001[3]

2002 : 'Export House' certified by Government of India in May 2002.[2]

2003 : Registration cum Membership Certificate by the Federation of Indian Export Organisations[4]

2005-06 : Incorporated as a Public limited company on August 31, 2005..[2]

Awarded for Excellence in Exports of Castor oil & Groundnut by the Indian Oilseeds and Produce Exporters Association.

2011-12 : 2nd Runner Up in Best Trader Exporters (Large) Category from ECGC D&B Indian Exports Excellence Awards 2012.

2012-13 : SEL stands one amongst the 81 Agribusiness Companies around the world (According to Pilmsoil, Country United Kingdom - Analyst for performance of agricultural commodities).

Products & Services[edit]

Sugar and By-Products
SEL, annually handles about 1 Mn. MT of various grades of sugar (Raw, Refined & Crystal) in global/domestic markets. SEL deals with various grades of sugar in the Indian Subcontinent, Far East, Middle East and East Africa. SEL trades in Molasses and ENA mainly from Indian Origin.

Oil and Oil Seeds
A major domestic supply chain partner for domestic refiners, by importing products from countries like (Malaysia, Indonesia, Ukraine and Argentina). SEL provides storage facilities to clients at major ports. SEL Trades in Seed oil & Palm complex products and also in other oil seeds such as Sesame seeds, groundnut kernels, sunflower seeds and Safflower seeds .

Grains
SEL operates on integrated global basis to source, store, trade, process and distribute grains including Rice, wheat, corn, barley, Millet and sorghum.

Pulses
SEL is a major supplier of pulses and beans to consumers in India, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Colombo, Indonesia, Turkey, Egypt and UAE. SEL's sources from Canada, Ukraine, African continent, Australia, Indonesia, Myanmar.

Spices
A trader in various spices such as Coriander seeds, Cumin Seeds, Turmeric, Kalonji, Fenugreek Seeds, Fennel, Ajwain, Nutmeg, Mustard, Cardamom, Black Pepper, Dill Seed, Ginger, and Various grounded spices and curry powder.

Animal feed
An Exporter of De-oiled cakes such as Soyabean Meal, Rapeseed meal, Groundnut Meal, Castor Meal etc. mainly to SEA and Middle East.

Cotton
Serves as growers, ginners, buyers and textile mills worldwide through the network of buying, selling and shipping offices and warehouses.

Renewable Energy
Ventured in to renewable Energy in 2007 by installing wind mills in Gujarat state in western part of India.

Distribution and Supply Chain Management
Guarantees just-in-time delivery, by buying substantial volumes of defined product range and maintains a supply of inventories on behalf of customers in its storage facilities. Takes charge of local sales to the manufacturing industry across continents, namely Middle East, South Asia, Australia, Africa, Europe, North America and Latin America.
