Salam Vancouver (meaning "Hello Vancouver" in English) is a weekly local and international news magazine covering local Persian and Canadian news for a general Persian-speaking audience. The magazine is published in Vancouver, Canada every Friday.
History
Founded in 2018 by Moe Emady, Salam Vancouver is published every Friday and distributed all across the greater Vancouver Area.[2][3] It has done promotions for most major brands such as Mercedes-Benz, BMW, & popular Persian personalities such as Maz Jobrani.[4][5][6] In 2022, Salam Vancouver teamed up with local magazine Daneshmand Magazine and the digital marketing firm Meta Marketing to become their sister company.[7]
Features
Outside of Los Angeles county, Vancouver occupies the largest community of Persians in North America.[8] Salam Vancouver's articles are tailored towards helping connect the Persian communities across greater Vancouver to local happenings. As well as featuring local news, the magazine covers cultural, traditional and spiritual events within the community. Articles are primarily written by working professionals across Canada, the topics ranging from technical to philosophical. It is not a peer-reviewed journal, but it is read by scientists and non-scholars as a way of keeping track of developments within Canadian culture. There is also a Salam Vancouver website.[9]
