Taj Varzeshi (Persian: تاج ورزشی‎) was a biweekly sports magazine published in Tehran, Iran, from 1949 to 1979. The owner of Taj Varzeshi was Taj sports and cultural organization.

History[edit]

The first number was issued on 5 May 1949, and the magazine continued its publication until 1979. Taj Varzeshi was first published by Esteghlal F.C. known as Docharkhesavaran (Persian: دوچرخه‌سواران‎) at the time and thus the first issues, until February 1950, were named Docharkhesavaran. Magazine's name was changed to Taj Varzeshi in February 1950 after the club changed its name from Docharkhesavaran to Taj. Sadri Mir Emadi was one of the chief editors of this biweekly magazine.[1]

In February 1979 the Iranian revolution put a stop to Taj Varzeshi and its activities.[2]
