Samuel "Sammy" Lunn was a South Australian icecream vendor, philanthropist and noted supporter of the Port Adelaide Football Club.[3]
Early years
Sammy Lunn was born in Dover, England.
Ice-cream vendor
After arriving in South Australia Sammy Lunn became a successful Ice cream vendor and became noted for catchphrases such as "Come on the run, if you want a bit of fun, and buy an ice-cream from Sammy Lunn".[4]
Football barracker
Sammy Lunn was a noted supporter of the Port Adelaide Football Club who would coin catchy rhymes in support of the players.
Wartime fundraiser
Sammy Lunn was most famous for his ability to raise money for Australian soldiers during and after World War I.
