Sandeep Kumar Mishra (S.K Mishra)(born 5 May 1974) is an Indian Australian poet, writer, artist and lecturer. He works for Hello fresh[1] Australia. Indian Poetry Review[2] Press published his Amazon bestseller[3] debut poetry collection “One Heart-Many Breaks[4]”. He has received "Indian Achievers Award-2021", "IPR International Poetry Award 2020" and "Literary Titan Silver Award-2020'. He is shortlisted for "Indies Today International Award-2021", "Joy Bale Boone Poetry Prize-2021" and "Oprelle Rise Up Poetry Prize 2021".
Mishra was part of International Events and Charity programs like Miss World Australia[5],Miss Earth Australia[6], Pageant of the World[7]. He is also part of Sydney Sixers Team (Big Bash[8]),West Mead Cancer Hospital, Poetry Sydney[9],New South Wales Art Gallery[10]. He was part of Australian television shows like "The living room[11]" and "The Masked Singer[12]".
Early life and career[edit]
Mishra was born in Ramgarh Shekhawati. He lives in Sujangarh town of Churu district of Rajasthan state of India. He began to work at an young age. He joined Adarsh Vidya Mandir (AVM Group). He served at the school for over 22 years.He was Head of Department,Exam coordinator,Admission Officer and School History Writer. He also conducted many government exams as Center superintendent.He started an art academy“Kishlaya Outsider Art Academy” in 2017. He started a literary magazine “Indian Poetry Review”in 2020. He is member of Asia Pacific Writers and Translators, Poetry Society of Classical Poets and NSW Art Gallery.His art work is also exhibited in "Art in Embassies program" of American Embassy (USA Department of State)
As an editor[edit]
Mishra edited a collection of poems by various poets - Pearls (2002). He wrote a professional guide book -How to be (2016).He is working on “The History of English Poetry[13]” which is due to be published in early 2022.He hinted about this in an interview with star magazine[14]. First chapter of this book published as a series on Society of Classical Poets. He is poetry editor at Indian Poetry Review.He works as a staff writer at various magazines such as The Great British Politics[15], The Good Men Project[16], Extra News Feed, San Antonio Review[17], London Literary Review.
As an artist[edit]
Mishra's art has been featured in New England Review, Bitchin Kitsch, Priestess and Hierophant,Studio 1, Foliate oak, Mud Season Review, Human-touch,Duende literary,Permafrost mag, Sediment Literary and many print only journals and magazines.“His works are artistic manifestation of his actual self. It shows the heart for nature, its beautiful creations especially woman” reviewed Newzz magazine. "Writing about the woman, the ways most men can not",writes Cine-talkers magazine[18].
Mishra's first art exhibition was in National Club Art gallery, Sujangarh, Rajasthan, India, January 1-January 3, 1994.His works has been featured in many galleries like Still point Art Gallery,Visarts Concourse Gallery[19], Saatchi Art Gallery[20], Outside in Art Gallery. His art work is also exhibited in "Art in Embassies program[21]" of American Embassy (USA Department of State)
As a political writer[edit]
Mishra has dealt with political subjects at the university. He has published many political articles, reviews and papers in many newspapers and magazines like The Great British Politics[22],Extranewsfeed[23], Good men project, Buzz feed, Medium, Elephant Journal[24], London Literary Review. He has published essays on personal and professional development. He is published in newspapers like International Business Times.The Los Angeles Tribune and The US Review.
As a poet[edit]
Mishra's poems have featured in magazines, journals and anthologies such as New York Book Festival[25], International Times, New England Review[26], Society of Classical Poets Third Wednesday, Blue Mountain Review International times, London Literary Review, Poetry Sydney, Poetry on the move. He had edited a poetry collection- Seep Ke Moti (2003). His first poetry collection “One Heart-Many Breaks” (2020) is a blend of realistic W Blake and romantic Keats[27]" .
“His writing style is similar to prominent authors like G. M. Hopkins, W. B. Yeats, John Keats, Tennyson, and W Shakespeare” He incorporates his own life into his poems. He really found himself in Kalidas, Kabir, Mira Bai, and Shakespeare's poems.” Sandeep's work can be compared to Maya Angelou's work when she describes the phenomenal woman,letting women know that they matter. "He is a classicist in modern poetry[28]".
