Sarah Roberts is the name of a Englishwoman and accountant[1] who died at the age of 28 on 14 September 2000 from vCJD.[2][3]
Summary[edit]
Roberts was diagnosed with the disease only two months prior to her death.[3] There was a mystery why Matthew Parker, a neighbour from the same street in Armthorpe, also died from vCJD.[1] In the House of Commons two days after Sarah's death came to notice, Rosie Winterton, MP for Doncaster Central, broke the news that the first victim associated with Armthorpe, who went by the name Adrian Hodgkinson, was claimed by the disease at age 24 in February 1997.[4]

Over the period of nine months, Roberts' mother Sheila watched her regress to the state of mind of an infant. suffering terror and hallucinations.[3]
