Saran Shakthi is an Indian film actor, who primarily works in Tamil films. He made his film debut as child artist in Kadal (2013). After appearing as child artist in various films, he made his breakthrough as an adult actor with his role in Vada Chennai (2018).[1]

Career[edit]

Saran started acting at the age of 15. In 2012, he made his first appearance in K. Balachander's serial, Amudha Oru Aacharyakuri which aired on Kalaignar TV. He made a brief appearance in Vishwaroopam in 2013. In the same year he made his film debut as child artist in Kadal directed by Mani Ratnam. Later he acted in various films such as Jilla, Vai Raja Vai and Sigaram Thodu as a child artist.

In 2018, Saran made his first breakthrough in an adult role in Vada Chennai which earned him the recognition. In 2019, he starred in his first lead role in Sagaa which opened to mixed reviews[2]. In 2021, he starred alongside Nayanthara in the crime thriller, Netrikann which premiered on Hotstar.[3].

Saran is currently playing a negative role in Etharkkum Thunindhavan[4]. He is also playing a prominent role in the highly anticipated film, K.G.F: Chapter 2[5][6].

Controversy[edit]

Saran is currently participating in the TV reality show Survivor Tamil on Zee Tamil[7]. In the show he was accused and proven guilty of using a mobile phone borrowed from a camera man in the island to connect outside. However he wasn't disqualified from the show and still competing with a warning from the host.[8].
