Shaheryar Shafi (born September 28, 1995) is a Pakistani clinical scientist who is passionate about research and treatment of cancer. He is currently working on inflammation and tumor immunity in cancers to better understand the causes of tumors and treat them. [2]
Biography[edit]
In 2021 Shafi was selected as a young scientist by the Alliance of international science organizations (ANSO) and got funding for his Ph.D. as the Young Talents based on a comprehensive evaluation. [3] He is currently working as a research assistant and pursuing his Ph.D. at the Suzhou Institute of Biomedical Engineering and Technology (SIBET) at the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC).
Scientific merits[edit]
Shafi's research aims to understand how tumors grow and spread and how to prevent them from doing so. He published an article in collaboration with his lab-mates, explaining how ferroptosis can play a role in glioma progression and the treatment of glioma in the brain[4]. Shafi's research in another article, Application of fluorescent nano-biosensor for the detection of cancer bio-macromolecular markers in this article they have discussed about nano-biosensor technology, which could be used to help identify cancerous cells and track their progression.[5]
