Sherman de Vries (born July 13, 1990) aka Ice[1] is a record producer, mixing engineer and a songwriter born in Sint Maarten with Father from the Netherlands and Mother from Aruba.[2] His works got placed as the Billboard Chart Toppers of 2018, with around 5 songs in the same week in the top 20 charts including position 1 and 2. He has worked with several signed artists and producers on Record labels like Universal Music Group, Sony Music and Spinnin' Records[3] He has worked with musicians like Shaggy (musician), Juicy J, I-Octane, Flo Rida, Demarco (musician) and others.[4][5]
Early life and Education[edit]
de Vries was born in Sint Maarten and began learning music from his childhood. He graduated from Production and Sound Design at the D’drive Music College in the Netherlands in 2012.[6] de Vries then furthered his studies in Music Business and graduated in Bachelors of Music at the Hanze University of Applied Sciences in 2016.
Biography[edit]
After completing graduation, Sherman relocated to Amsterdam and has produced for several artists through out the world. His production led to one of the singles-charting number one in Billboard magazine and also resulted in an American Beat Website nomination for Best Pop Instrumentals of the year.
During his stay in the Netherlands, Sherman teamed up with few other record producers, and has composed, produced and arranged songs for Recording artists under major labels. In 2010, the dynamic producers successfully released singles and became one of the biggest Billboard Chart Toppers of 2010, having up to five songs in the same week on the top 20 charts including #1 and #2.[7][8] Sherman has also produced, arranged and engineered numerous successful artists released by different labels in Europe and USA. Sherman strong Caribbean Commercial Pop background has led him to projects involving song writing and production. As a music producer, he also charted in dancehall with hit songs for artists including Sean Paul, Mavado (singer), I-Octane, Beenie Man, Gyptian and more. He continues to produce, mix, master, engineer and also develop up and coming artists in different genres of music including: Pop, Dancehall, House, Afro Hip Hop and R&B. Since relocating to the Netherlands, he has scored for feature films and documentaries. de Vries is influenced to create diverse records from electro-pop to moombahton, dancehall, reggaeton and commercial pop.
In 2019, de Vries released 2 hit singles Pretty Cry, & Mona, that charted on the World Indie Music Charts & Euro Indie Music Charts.[9][10]
