Shorjo Depto Surjo (born 16 August 1966) is a Bangladeshi writer and television director. He has made television dramas such as Humayun Ahmed Somipe (2019)[1] Ring Master Babur Ghora, Hajar Botrish (2018)[2] He is also an accomplished writer. He has written several books such as Apu Durgar Karigor Bibhutibhushan, Mora Kartiker Kabya, Raktakto Rajpur, Nirbachito Chhoto Golpo, O Jeno Ki Bolte Cheyechhilo, Elir Ei Sokoy, Hello Bangladesh etc.[3][4]
Career[edit]
Shorjo Depto started his career as a writer. After writing several acclaimed books such as Apu Durgar Karigor Bibhutibhushan, Mora Kartiker Kabya, Raktakto Rajpur he moved to direction. He made his debut in Television with writing the drama Mister Mofiz (2010) which was aired on ATN Bangla. His first drama as a director was 2012 Television drama Lal Lal Eid. In 2019, he has made a Television drama named Humayun Ahmed Somipe, which is a tribute to late author and filmmaker. It was telecast on Maasranga Television and starred Shyamal Mawla, Nadia Haque Orsha, Shilpi Sarkar Apu etc.[1] He has also made a drama named Hajar Botrish (2018) featuring Afran Nisho and Aparna Ghosh.[2]
Personal life[edit]
Shorjo married Bibha Rani Sarkar in 2004. They have two sons: Chirantan who was born in 2011 and Dibyo who was born in 2020.
