Shuaibu Isa Lau (born 1960) is a Nigerian politician and Member of the Nigerian Senate representing Taraba North, under the platform of the People's Democratic Party (Nigeria). He was declared the member of the 8th assembly in the Senate after he won the court case at the Supreme Court of Nigeria on 23 June 2017.

Early life[edit]

Born to the family of Alh. Isa Ali and Hajj. Zainab Isa Ali in Lau Local Government Area of Taraba State, Shuaibu attended the Local Education Authority Primary School Lau, from 1969 - 1975 and General Murtala Muhammed College, Yola from 1975 - 1980. He then joined the School of Basic Studies, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, in 1980 where he obtained a Bachelor Degree in Engineering in 1984.[1]

Political career[edit]

Shuaibu Isa Lau contested for the Senatorial Election, Taraba North in the 2015 general election under the platform of the People's Democratic Party (Nigeria), where he became the flag bearer of the party before the maneuver by the then Acting Governor of the state Abubakar Danladi Sani. He sought redress in the court and won on 23 June 2017 [2]and became a member of 8th assembly in the Senate until June 2019.[3][4]

He was re-elected under the same political party, People's Democratic Party (Nigeria) on 28 March, 2019, to represent Taraba North for another four years.[5] As of 2019, he is chairman of the senate committee on public procurement.[6][7]
