"Si Te Vas" (If You Leave) is a song written and performed by Colombian singer-songwriter Shakira. The song was released as the sixth single from her multi-platinum album Dónde Están los Ladrones? (1998), Spain being one of the countries in which this song succeeded notably.
No music video was filmed, so it was released only as a radio single. The song is also found on Shakira's live albums MTV Unplugged, Live and Off the Record and Oral Fixation Tour. It is also included on her first greatest hits album Grandes Éxitos.
Background[edit]
The song expresses how a female is being replaced by another girl and how she is hurt, and her willingness to move on with her life.
Legacy[edit]
Shakira has performed the song during all of her tours, making it one of her signature songs. It was re-released as a single to promote her first greatest hits album Grandes Éxitos in 2002.
