The Sikh Attack on Nader Shah (also known as Persian-Sikh War) was a skirmish fought between the khalsa and Afsharid dynasty. When Nader Shah was leaving India after his 2 year long campaign, the Sikhs who were living in forests ambushed him under the command of Nawab Kapur Singh. They fought until Sikhs seized a large amount of booty and managed to free slaves which were held captive after battle of Karnal. A number of 22,000 Hindu girls were set free by the khalsa.[citation needed]
