Pharaoh and Moses and Krishna and Kansa[edit]

They were both born at unfavorable times. King Kansa enslaved the people of Mathura and Pharaoh Seti enslaved the Hebrews in Egypt.

Pharaoh and Kansa were told in prophecy that a savior would defeat them. Kansa was told that his eighth nephew would kill him, so he imprisoned his sister Devaki and her husband Vasudeva and killed all the children that Devaki gave birth to. Seti was told that a Hebrew child would grow up, rise up against him and free the Hebrews, so he ordered every Hebrew newborn boy to be killed.

Moses and Mrishna had a relationship with Pharaoh and Kansa, their great enemies. Kansa was Krishna's uncle and Rameses was Moses' foster brother. Seti was Moses' foster father.

Krishna and Moses had a relationship with God or other gods. Krishna was an incarnation of the god Vishnu. Krishna had a brother named Balarama who was also an incarnation of Vishnu. God was with Moses throughout his life and he protected him from the river and his wanderings. Moses met God on the mountain and God instructed Moses to return to Egypt to free the Hebrews.

At their birth, their parents had to take them to a river where they would be safe from their opponents. Vasudeva carried Krishna in a basket across the Yamuna River to the village of Gokul, where cowherds lived. There Krishna became the son of Yashoda and Nanda. Yocheved placed Moses in a basket on the Nile River, and the basket floated to the palace where Moses became the son of Queen Tuya and Pharaoh Seti.

After Moses was exiled from Egypt for murdering an Egyptian by abusing a Hebrew slave, he lived in Midian, where he became a shepherd. Krishna spent his entire childhood in Gokul, where people herded cattle.

When Moses was born to Hebrew slaves, he was raised by royal Egyptians. Krishna was born among captive royals and raised by villagers.

After some time, the main characters had to return to their birthplace to free their people. Krishna and Balarama were told by Akru, who lived in the palace of Mathura, about the oppression of their parents and the cruelty of Kansa. This gave them the determination to leave their home. Moses was told by God to return to Egypt to free the Hebrews and that he would be by his side, showing Egypt all its wonders. This gave him the determination to leave Midian after many years of hiding.

Krishna confronts his uncle after fighting his wrestlers in a huge arena. Krishna defeats his uncle, ending his oppression and freeing the people of Mathura and his parents. Moses tries to convince Ramesses to change his mind by showing him signs from God: turning his staff into a snake and the ten plagues. After the tenth plague, Ramesses finally allows the Hebrews to be freed.
