Barge P305 was an accommodation vessel working for the Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) at Mumbai High offshore Oil field. It had broken free of its anchor shortly after midnight on May 16 due to high-speed winds and a choppy sea. Barge P305 was carrying 261 people on the day of incident.
