Social Democrats of America is activist organization with a socialist and labor-oriented ideology in the United States.

The Social Democrats believe in that a socialist society is one in which the government provides free education and universal healthcare, opposes the death penalty, supports abortion rights, ensures a universal basic income, upholds the right to unionize, protects the separation of church and state, and affirms that its fundamental role is to make life bearable for all while safeguarding individual liberties.[2]

The organization is a faction within the Democratic Party and advocates for elected Democrats to adopt progressive policies.[3][4]In 2023, its national secretary, Theo Chino, came in third in the race for the leadership of the New York Democratic Party.[5]
