Somnath Chatterjee (born 7 January 1946) is a leader of Communist Party of India (Marxist-Leninist) Liberation.[1] Before 2021, he is a central committee member of All India Trinamool Trade Union Congress, the trade union of Tmc.
Political career[edit]
Somnath Chatterjee is an activist of Communist Party of India (Marxist-Leninist) on naxal preoid, after Charu Majumder dead Somnath Chatterjee led a minor naxal group in the name of Communist Party of India (Marxist-Leninist).[2][3][4] On 2003, Somnath Chatterjee led Cpiml merge with several minor naxal group and formed Communist Party of India (Marxist-Leninist) Class Struggle.[5][6][7] In 2008, He quit Class Struggle group and joined All India Trinamool Congress.[8][9]
Joining CPIML LIBERATION[edit]
On 7 th November 2021, Communist Party of India (Marxist-Leninist) Liberation organised a mass convention in Asanson, In the convention a huge number of leaders and activists of other party join CPIML Liberation. Leaders like Leba Chand Tudu, Badre Alam join Communist Party of India (Marxist-Leninist) Liberation. From this convention Somnath Chatterjee decided to quit Trinamool Congress and joined CPIML Liberation.[10][11][12]
