Early and Personal Life[edit]

Sophie "Soph" Aspin was born in Manchester, England.[1] Her mother is deaf, so she communicates with her mother in sign language. Soph, although being born in Manchester, moved to Blackpool at a young age and very quickly found herself a victim of bullying and harassment at school. This caused her to experience depression and overdose on pills as revealed in one of her songs. Sophie has one brother; Alex, who has performed alongside Sophie. Most of her family's personal life and names are unknown. Sophie is also bisexual.[2]

Rise to notability[edit]

Sophie started singing grime as a distraction and hobby for fun to ignore the bullying. She began grime in 2016, her first appearance being in a Callymansam music video. However, her major rise to notability would be when she started beefing with another Grime artist, Little T. The pair sent multiple sends at each other, with some of the tracks surpassing more than 2 million views on the BGMedia YouTube account. The fame was also contributed to the many commentary youtubers such as Memeulous and WillNE who reacted to and spread the songs. Sophie Aspin is also heavily associated with Grime Artist Millie B; who made a send to Sophie that went viral on TikTok in 2020.[3] The two also beefed with each other and ultimately ended up collaborating and making a final send towards Little T.

Present[edit]

Sophie Aspin is now pursuing a more professional, serious career in singing and has left Grime behind her (along with most other Grime Artists). Sophie has stated that she is slightly embarrassed of her Grime past, but is thankful due to the audience it has gave her.[2] Her and Millie B maintain a good friend relationship and the two have no hard feelings towards one another.[2][4] She runs a YouTube channel and posts actively on Social Media.[5] She turned 19 in August 2021.
