Sri Sri Aniruddhadeva Sports University is an residential and afflicting sports university situated at Chabua in the Dibrugarh district of the Indian state Assam. The university is named after Sri Sri Aniruddhadeva, a Vaishnava saint of medieval Assam. It is the first sports university of Assam.
History[edit]
The university was established through The Assam Sri Sri Aniruddhadeva Sports University Act, 2018[1] which was passed by the Assam Legislative Assembly in 2018.[2] In July 2020, Jai Prakash Verma took charge as the first vice-chancellor of the university.[3] The university is operating from the District Industries & Commerce Centre located at Chowkidingee, Dibrugarh. It will be shifted to Pani Era village of Balijan, Chabua after completion of permanent campus.
