Sports University of Haryana, Rai, Sonipat is an upcoming university in Indian state of Haryana, established by a bill passed by Haryana Vidhan Sabha.[1][2][3][4][5][6][7][8][9][10][11] It is seventh university specialised in sports education in India including all other central, deemed and state universities.

India has many spots universities, out of them one is a central university named National Sports University and one is deemed university named Lakshmibai National Institute of Physical Education. All other sports universities are established by state government. Haryana followed the path of sports universities establishment in the states named Tamil Nadu Physical Education and Sports University, Swarnim Gujarat Sports University, Rajasthan Sports University (not functional) and Punjab Sports University to establish Sports University of Haryana.
