Dr. Stephen Courtney is the inventor of a line of FDA-approved surgical tools under the brand name Eminent Spine®. The Eminent Spine® tools are designed to improve the patient experience and surgical outcomes in the field of neck and back surgery. This includes the "Interbody Fusion Device Implant". [1]In addition to the Eminent Spine® line, Dr. Courtney also holds 18 other patents and 15 trademarks aimed towards training orthopedic surgeons across the United States in the use of surgical tools. Dr. Stephen P. Courtney, born December 29, 1963, is a board-certified orthopedic spine surgeon currently operating in Plano, Texas. [3] Dr. Courtney earned his Bachelor of Science at University of Louisiana at Monroe, in Louisiana, before attending LSU Health Sciences Center Shreveport, in Louisiana. He then completed his orthopedic residency at Texas A&M University Medical Center in Temple, Texas, and his spine fellowship at Florida Neck & Back Institute, PA, in Gainesville, Florida.
