Suha N. Kayum
Suha Kayum is a High-Performance Computing Expert and the first appointed female Focus Area Champion in the EXPEC Advanced Research Center (EXPEC ARC) in Saudi Aramco in 2018.She has contributed to the development and optimization of Saudi Aramco's massively parallel basin simulator, reservoir simulator and seismic imaging framework; TeraPOWERS, GigaPOWERS and GeoDRIVE..
Professional career[edit]
Kayum graduated summa cum laude in Computer Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology in 2008 and earned a master's degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Georgia Tech in 2010. During her graduate studies, Suha worked as an Assistant Researcher at the Georgia Tech Research Institute. After graduating she worked at Endgame Systems in Atlanta, USA as a software engineer where she processed big data using distributed and cloud computing.
Suha joined EXPEC ARC in Saudi Aramco in 2013 and became the first female Focus Area Champion (supervisor) at EXPEC ARC in 2018 where she led the Advanced Scientific Computing team in the Computational Modeling Division.
Suha served as the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) Saudi Arabia Section's Young Professionals Chairperson for the 2018–2019 term and the SPE Subcommittee Co-chair for the International Petroleum Technology Conference in Dhahran in 2020. She serves on an international technical committee for the 5th European Association for Geologists and Engineers (EAGE) workshop on HPC in 2021.
She is the author of more than a dozen peer-reviewed publications and conference papers and has invented several patents.
Suha has been mentioned in news outlets such as the Financial Times and the New York Times.

Suha has been awarded several awards such as the Emerging Leader Global Energy Show award in Calgary and the SPE Regional Young Member Outstanding service award in 2019.
