Seol Yoon-a (Hangul: 설윤아; born January 26, 2004), better known by her stage name Sullyoon (설윤) is a South Korean singer and dancer. She debuted in 2022 as a member of the girl group Nmixx, formed by JYP Entertainment.[1]
Early life
Sullyoon was born Seol Yoon-a on January 26, 2004, in Daejeon, South Korea. She attended Hanlim Multi Art School and graduated on February 10, 2023.[2] Her family consists of her parents and two brothers.[3]
Career
Pre-debut
Prior to joining JYP Entertainment, Sullyoon trained under Woollim Entertainment and was originally set to debut in their girl group Rocket Punch. She reportedly passed auditions for several major agencies, including SM Entertainment and YG Entertainment, before choosing to sign with JYP Entertainment in 2020.[4]
On September 3, 2021, she was introduced as a member of Nmixx through a cover performance of "Full Moon" by Sunmi.[5]
2022–present: Debut with Nmixx and solo activities
Sullyoon officially debuted with Nmixx on February 22, 2022, with the single album Ad Mare and its lead track "O.O".[6][7] She participated in the Idol Star Athletics Championships on July 31 and August 1, 2022, with the event airing on September 9, 2022. She placed fourth in the sports dance category.[8]
On April 6, 2023, Sullyoon was announced as a new host of Show! Music Core alongside Stray Kids’ Lee Know and NCT 127’s Jungwoo.[9] She left the show in February 2025, after 22 months of hosting.[10]
In December 2024, at the 2024 MBC Music Festival, Sullyoon collaborated with Aespa's Karina and Itzy's Yuna for a cover of Alaina Castillo's "Pocket Locket".[11] The performance was highly anticipated,[12] was well received by audiences,[13] and has been partly attributed for the rise of the song's popularity in South Korea.[14]
Artistry and image
Sullyoon began studying ballet and modern dance at the age of five. She is fluent in Spanish and also speaks English. Her singing, dancing, facial expressions, and visuals have attracted significant attention on the internet.[15][16]
Sullyoon, alongside Jang Won-young, Karina, and Yuna, is often regarded for being the main "visual" member of her fourth generation girl group, with the quartet earning the nickname "Jang-Ka-Sull-Yu" from Korean media.[17][18]
Endorsements
On April 19, 2022, Sullyoon served as a face for the opening of Wooyoungmi's new pop-up boutique called "Silver Lining".[19] In October 2024, she was invited by Swiss watch manufacturer Breitling SA to the opening of their 140th anniversary heritage pop-up in Seoul.[20] In March 2025, she was selected by South Korean beer company Kabrew to model their new highball product.[21]
