Sydney Novak

[1] Sydney Novak is a troubled teenage girl who realizes she has telekenetic powers. She is played by Sophia Lillis. Sydney Novak's father also had telekenesis. Her mother would help him about it. One day in the military, Syd's dad accidentally triggered an explosion that killed all of his friends. He could never live with himself, so one day he killed himself. Sydney always chose her dad over her mom even after he died. Sydney has a brother named Liam, in which she nicknamed Goob. She is friends with a teenage boy named Stanley Barber. Stanley, played by Wyatt Oleff, is a drug dealer and they usually smoke together. Sydney also is best friends with a girl named Dina. Dina, played by Sophia Bryant, is really close with Sydney. Sydney has a huge crush on Dina, but Dina has a boyfriend named Bradley Lewis, played by Richard Ellis who Sydney has major beef with.
One night at a party, Stanley asks Syd if she would like to go to the prom. She says,"Sure why not". Later, she finds Dina in a room crying on a bed and Dina says Brad and her got in a stupid fight and Brad asked if he could have his jacket back. Sydney says,"I guess we're stuck with each other". Dina says,"I want to be stuck with you". Then Sydney kisses her and Dina says,"We're just drunk right? Like you don't actually like like me right?" Then Sydney says,"No I'm so sorry" and rushes out of the room. She runs out of the house and screams "F***!!!!!" in rage and a forest falls down. Stanley witnesses it and Syd claimed the trees were like this when she came. She then said,"Alright YOU CANNOT TELL ANYONE!!!" "SWEAR!!!".
Stanley really loves Syd even though she does not like him back. One day at school, the students are having a test and Bradley asks Dina to show him her paper so he can copy her answers. The teacher, Mr.File, sees and gets furious and says, you both failed the test. And earned yourselves detention. Sydney stands up and says,"That's total Bull****!!!". The teacher responds,"Excuse Me?" "Dina has been studying for weeks and Brad cheats off of her and gets detention!!!" "Young lady, you have earned a ticket to detention!!!","Anyone else?". Stanley stands up. *Shoves folders and papers off desk. "Mother****er!!!" "Alright you too!!" Stanley looks back at Sydney puts his thumbs up and smiles.
At Detention, Bradley asks if him and Sydney could act friendly. For Dina to be happy. Sydney says ok. Later, in the Library, Sydney rages and destroys 4 bookshelves. She calls Stan and asks him for help. She shows him and he says,"You want me to fix it?". She says,"No I don't care about that." *Points to a security camera. So Stanley, Dina and Syd go on a mission to steal the tape. A few minutes later, Sydney overhears Brad talking to a gothic girl about how it must be a secret that he cheated on Dina with the girl at the party. Then Brad says oh hi Syd. Keep this a secret. For Dina to be happy, right? Dina comes in and asks what's going on. Brad looks at Sydney like, for Dina. Sydney explains everything and Dina dumps Brad. When Dina is running out , Brad tells Syd,"That was on you!!". Ever since then, Bradley swore revenge on Sydney.
A few days later, Sydney asks Dina to go to the prom with her. Dina agrees. The Night of the Prom, Dina and Sydney are happy together dancing. Since Sydney went with someone else, Stanley went with a judgmental girl named Mercedes. Syd,Stan and Dina are chilled talking about the "mission" in Detention. Everything is calm. The prom King and Queen are announced and then, Brad takes the mic. He stole her Diary!!!! Bradley reveals all her secrets like she is a lesbian, she kissed Dina that night at the party, and then Stan went up to Brad and said,"Leave her alone!!!" and Brad punched Stan. Stan fell to the ground. Dina got mad. "Just shut up Brad!". Brad continued and said that everyone in her life treats her like a piece of S***. Thoughts of anger are rolling through Syd's mind. "SHUT UP. SHUT UP. SHUT UP." Brad then tries to say that,"She claims to have powers". When he said she claims to- Sydney's powers got out of control and Brad's head exploded. Everyone screamed and evacuated the school. Syd ran up to a water tower. Somebody followed...
