Matheus de Araujo Santos (born 6 July 2001),[1] known professionally as TZ da Coronel, is a Brazilian rapper, who's music is influenced by hip-hop, rap, trap, and funk carioca. His most popular songs are "Poesia Acústica 13", "Engana Dizendo Que Ama", and "ESSÊNCIA DE CRIA".[2]

Career
Matheus de Araujo Santos, also known by his stage name TZ da Coronel, started his career in music in 2020, when he released a song named "No Meu Pescoço". He released his debut album, "É o Trem!"[3] on March 7, 2022 on the Calli Cartel Record label. His release, "Qual é seu desejo", peaked at #1 on the Billboard Brasil Hot 100,[4]making it his first song to reach this achievement. He has collaborated with other notable Brazilian artists, such as MC Cabelinho, Veigh, Ryu, the Runner, and Chefin. He has also collaborated with the Brazilian producer, Nagalli, on countless occasions. In 2022, he was signed to Calli Cartel Records. This was his first record deal, and on his debut album, Calli Cartel Records were credited on every song. He is currently signed to Cúpula, seen in his album "Dacoromode"[5]. In a interview by the Billboard Brasil Hot 100, TZ da Coronel speaks about his creation of the song "Qual é seu desejo".[6]
Style and Genre
TZ da Coronel's music is heavily influenced by Hip-hop, rap, and trap, along with the genre funk carioca, which is a music genre from Rio de Janeiro that primarily revolves around samba, Miami bass, and hip-hop. His music often has a prominent bassline, which is especially easy to hear in his song "Qual é seu desejo". A good amount of his discography has explicit lyrics, however the amount of explicit lyrics are comparable to other mainstream rappers. His most popular album "Dacoromode" mostly featured hip-hop and rap.
