Tad Morose is a Swedish heavy metal band. Formed in Bollnäs, Sweden in 1991, they are led by guitarist Christer 'Krunt' Andersson. Their 1993 debut album was Leaving the Past Behind; subsequent releases include Sender of Thoughts (1994), Modus Vivendi (2003) and Chapter X (2018). Their style has been described as "a power/classic heavy metal hybrid with slight progressive tendencies."[2]

History

Their original line-up was Christer Andersson, Per-Ola Olsson and Dan-Erik Eriksson[1]. Their full-length debut was Leaving the Past Behind, a minor hit that established the band within the continental European heavy metal community. In the subsequent decade the band released a total of seven albums, culminating with Modus Vivendi in 2003.[3]

Following the release of Modus Vivendi the band's membership underwent a number of changes. Singer Urban breed left for Bloodbound in late 2005. Breed was replaced by Joe Comeau in March 2006; Comeau left the band in 2008. As of 2018 the lead vocalist is Ronny Hemlin, formerly of Steel Attack.[4] Daniel Olsson left the band in 2007, and was replaced by Markus Albertson, on guitar. In June 2008 an update appeared on the band's official site that a new band logo had been produced and that the band was continuing work on their forthcoming album. Bassist Anders Modd's departure was announced in July 2008; he was replaced by Tommi Karppanen.[5]

After a hiatus of about ten years, the band released Revenant in 2013 and St. Demonius in 2015. Front-man Hemlin described the style of St. Demonius as "melodic heavy metal with a touch of symphonic prog".[3] Their most recent album, Chapter X, was released in June 2018.[6]
