Talbot Runhof is a German fashion label based in Munich. The company was founded in 1992 as "All About Eve" by Johnny Talbot (born in 1964) and Adrian Runhof (born in 1963)[1] and renamed Talbot Runhof in 2000. Women's fashion and accessories are created, produced, and sold under the name.[2]

History

Johnny Talbot studied electrical engineering and worked as a programmer for the US government before becoming a fashion designer. Adrian Runhof gained experience in design and fashion sales early on, as he comes from a family of fashion manufacturers and retailers, and studied business administration after graduating from high school.[3][1]

Talbot and Runhof met in Munich in 1991 and initially founded the couture house "All About Eve" with a third partner, which was known for modern evening wear in the 1990s. At the same time, Talbot and Runhof worked as designers and sales managers for various international fashion brands. When "All About Eve" expanded in 1998 and began to establish itself on the American fashion market, it became clear that the name could lead to trademark problems, since Joop had already launched a perfume of the same name. Therefore, "All About Eve" was renamed Talbot Runhof in 2000.[4]

In 2005, Talbot Runhof received the Petra German Fashion Award.[4]

Since October 2006,[5] Talbot Runhof present their collections twice a year as part of runway shows during Paris Fashion Week. Talbot Runhof is, next to Wolfgang Joop's prodigy,[6] one of two German labels granted this privilege by the Chambre Syndicale de la Couture Parisienne.

Style

Talbot Runhof is known for evening wear, which has been worn by Lady Gaga,[7] Angelina Jolie,[8] Anna Netrebko,[9] Bettina Wulff[10] and Julia Roberts.

As early as 2003, the press ranked them "among the leading designers for evening wear" and described them as "market leaders on the red carpets in Germany".[11] Die Welt wrote in 2004: "Wherever women are pictured in beautiful dresses, Talbot & Runhof is underneath"[12] and counted the designer duo in 2007 "among the favorite designers of the film stars with their elegant, feminine cocktail and evening wear".[13]

At the 2009 American Music Awards, both Selena Gomez and Carrie Underwood wore a silver mini dress designed by Talbot Runhof.

The motto of the label is: "It's all about knowing where to stop".
