Tanveer Zamani hails from an academically inclined family. She is the maternal granddaughter of Dr. Syed Mohiuddin Qadri Zore, a prominent scholar, poet, and social reformer. Her mother, Tahzeeb Zore Farooqui, was a Professor of Linguistic Sciences, and her father, Yahya A. Farooqui, was a Professor of Medicine and the Dean of a Medical college in Pakistan. Zamani completed her medical graduation from Jinnah Sindh Medical University in Pakistan.
