Tanzeel Akhtar

Tanzeel Akhtar (born on 5 September) is a British investment journalist and columnist. Akhtar contributes on a freelance basis to The Wall Street Journal newspaper.[1] She reports on cryptocurrencies and regulation for CoinDesk[2], Bitcoin Magazine, [3]Cryptonews.com and The Street.[4]

Akhtar holds a Bachelor of Arts, BA (Honours) in English Language and Literature from Manchester Metropolitan University, England. She trained as a newspaper journalist at the University of Central Lancashire, England.

Akhtar has participated in the ERASMUS Programme twice. She attended The National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Greece in 2004 and trained as a foreign correspondent at the University of Helsinki, Finland in 2007.

She is National Council for the Training of Journalists (NCTJ) accredited. Akhtar has passed the NCTJ Media Law, Public Administration and Teeline Shorthand 100 words per minute examinations.

Her work has been published in FT Alphaville, CNBC, Campden Family Office, Citywire, Modern Investor, Spear's Wealth Management Magazine, Euromoney, Yahoo Finance, Global Investor, ETF.com, CIO UK, Forbes, Funds Global Asia, Portfolio Institutional, Waters Technology and BRIC magazine. She has held full-time positions at Interactive Investor, Mining Journal, Marketing Week and Futures and Options Intelligence.

Akhtar has been quoted in IBT, Bloomberg Bulgaria[5], Al Jazeera, Business Insider, Finanzen.nl and Bitsonline[6].[7] [8][9] She provides expert analysis on cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin, Cardano, Ripple and Dash. In an article on Bitcoin described the phrase HODL in TheStreet.com as the "favorite mantra"[10] of Bitcoin holders.

Akhtar has interviewed John McAfee for TheStreet.com who is quoted saying the Bitcoin movement is unstoppable. She interviewed Mark W. Yusko an American investor, hedge fund manager, and philanthropist for TheStreet.com. Yusko told Akhtar in an interview[11] in 2017 that Bitcoin price will reach $400,000 in the long-term.
