Taru Mateti (born 13 May 1964) is a runner from Pune, India, who specializes in long-distance running up to the Ultramarathon distance. She won the Hyderabad marathon, 2014 in a senior veteran segment [1] and completed the Standard Chartered Mumbai Marathon 2015, placing third in the age group 50–55 years segment and second in 2016,[2] and then second place in Tata Mumbai Marathon 2020 in the age group 55–59 years [3] besides podium finishes in Vadodara International Marathon 2019 and 50K ultramarathons at Western Ghats Ultra and Mahabaleshwar Endurathon 2019.[4]

She completed [5] the 2018 down run Comrades Marathon (90.2K) in 10:53:02 to become one of the five women from Pune to have attempted this run. She then went on to complete[6] the 2019 up run Comrades Marathon (86.83K) in 10:44:56 to secure her second Bronze medal and a back-to-back medal. She is the first and only woman from Pune to have finished back-to-back runs in the Bronze category.

She ran her longest distance so far, 100K in [7] Pune Ultramarathon in November 2017. She was the only woman to run in that event and was placed fifth amongst all men and women with a timing of 13:54. She has also run the challenging hilly, trail 80K Malnad Ultra finishing amongst the top three women in the open category.[8]
