Ten Junk Miles is a free audio podcast hosted by attorney Scott Kummer. It was launched on January 7, 2015 by Scott Kummer and Cory Feign.
History[edit]
Before starting Ten Junk Miles(TJM), Scott Kummer was co-founder of the Flatlander Ultrarunners in Chicagoland which grew to over 2000 members.[1] Scott Kummer has a lot of running experience, including ten 100-mile finishes, dozens of half and full marathons, plenty of 50-milers, and 5ks.[1][2]
Show Format[edit]
The Ten Junk Miles Podcast has a format which rotates between a “Gang Show” and a “Long Run” and releases new episodes about every week. The Gang Show is unscripted with various hosts for roughly 2 hours. The Long Run features a one-on-one interview between the show’s founder, Scott Kummer, and a VIP in the running community.[3]
Guests[edit]
Guests have included world record holder, Camille Herron,[4][5][6] Ann Trason,[7] and founder of Trail Sisters, Gina Lucrezi.[8] Other guests include Samantha Gash,[9] Mary Katherine Ham,[10] Jenn Shelton,[11] Chirine Njeim,[12] Sue Lucas,[13] Jennifer Pharr Davis,[14] Timothy Noakes,[15] Lisa Smith-Batchen,[16] Michael Wardian,[17] Serena Scott Thomas,[18] Charlie Engle[19] and Jesse Itzler.[20] In addition to those, TJM also features people that may not be as recognized, but are making a difference in the running world.[3] Host Scott Kummer is also a guest for an episode.[21]
