Tetalia is a village located in Kadwa Tehsil of Katihar district in Bihar, India. It is situated 17km away from sub-district headquarter Kadwa and 45km away from district headquarter Katihar . As per 2009 stats, Tetalia village is also a gram panchayat. The total geographical area of village is 213 hectares. Tetalia has a total population of 2,827 people. It is the main center of local self-business in nearby villages (such as Kurhela, Bobra, Taiyabpur, Uffrail, Ahmadpur, Kelabari, Parlia, Kabaiya, Baluganj, Raiyanpur, etc.) which attracts people from there. The people from different region flocking to this semi-town local market for Sweet Shops, Cloths, Shoes, Vegetables, and various other items. Besides the original inhabitants of Kosi-Mahananda-Ganga Region, the town witnessed an influx of permanent settlers from different regions of Bihar. Its proximity to river brought many Harijan close to the village. The people here speak Surjapuri, Hindi, Urdu, Maithili, Bhojpuri, Bengali, etc.

The Area has a mix of Muslim, Hindu religion followers. But having a Muslim dominated since the 16th century. There is a Eidgaah at Pipalgachhi chowk market of Tetalia
