Search The Blind of the Phantom Cave: Angel's Eyes on Amazon.The Blind from the Phantom Cave (Indonesian: Si Buta dari Gua Hantu) is an upcoming Indonesian superhero film produced by Bumilangit Studios and Screenplay Films.[1] It was announced in 2019 as part of the Volume 1 films in the Bumilangit Cinematic Universe film series which began with the release of Gundala.[2]
The character Barda Mandrawata, or better known as the Blind from the Phantom Cave, was created by comic book artist Games T. H. and has been adapted into a live-action film in 1970 by Citra Award-winning director Lilik Sudjio.[3] Writer-director Timo Tjahjanto was announced to helm the project in 2019.[4]

The film was first announced in August 2019 ahead of the release of Gundala.[2] Joko Anwar, who wrote and directed Gundala, was announced as the executive producer who will oversee the development of all Volume 1 films in the Bumilangit Cinematic Universe.[5]
Casting[edit]
Iko Uwais has been rumored to star as the titular character although no official confirmation has been made.[6]
Filming[edit]
The film was supposed to begin shooting in October 2019, but in March 2020, Tjahjanto shared that the COVID-19 pandemic has delayed pre-production process and that it was unclear when he would start shooting the film.[7][8]
