The Demographic is an American hard rock band formed in 2009 by vocalist/guitarist Tom Pappalardo (The No-Shadow Kick) and drummer Sturgis Cunningham (MC Frontalot, The Monkees) in western Massachusetts. They performed for many years as a guitar/drum duo before adding bassist Marc Seedorf (Dinosaur Jr.) for the recording of 2021's Hiatus. Their bassist is currently Aaron Borucki.
In 2010, Pappalardo described the band's songwriting process:[1]
| “ | ...the approach we took right from the start was really sparse arrangements: no big intros, no big outros, no bridges on some, no choruses on some. | ” |
They have released three albums[2] and three digital-only EPs & singles[3]. The Demographic occasionally plays[4] as an acoustic duo.
