"The Detective" is the thirty-sixth episode in the fourth season of The Amazing World of Gumball, and the 152nd episode overall. It originally aired on Cartoon Network in the United States, on August 18, 2016. In this episode, Anais investigates the case of her missing Daisy the Donkey Doll, in the style of popular police procedural TV shows.
Plot[edit]
Anais investigates her bedroom, where a spilled bowl of cereal and a broken picture of Gumball and Darwin are present. She explains that her Daisy the Donkey doll is missing, and sets out to search for clues. She notices a large quantity of sugar in the cereal and comes up with the conclusion, that Gumball and Darwin trashed the room after experiencing a sugar rush.
A flashback shows Gumball and Darwin eating the cereal, and having the sugar rush. In the present, Anais questions Richard, who tells her he heard strange noises coming from the bathroom and later seeing Gumball and Darwin leaving the house in a panic. After going outside, Anais finds Darwin in a shed, where he explains what happened.
Darwin explains that after experiencing the sugar rush with Gumball, they played tug o' war with the Daisy the Donkey doll, resulting in it to tear. Anais later questions Darwin on Gumball's location, who tells her Gumball's in the cellar. In the cellar, Anais finds Gumball burying a trash bag in a hole. She opens the bag, only to find several toothbrushes, letting her know Darwin still has the doll.
Darwin confesses to throwing the doll in the garbage truck, and Anais chases it. After a long chase, she stops the truck and recovers her doll. Later in the day, Richard is seen stitching the doll back together, while Gumball and Darwin are seen cleaning the room they trashed.
