The Fixies (Script error: The function "langx" does not exist.) is a Russian animated children's television series that premiered in 2010 on Russia-1 and continues to air on Carousel.[1]
Premise
The Fixies center around an eponymous race of tiny creatures called fixies (a portmanteau of "fix" and "pixie"), who perform maintenance work inside of appliances and other types of machinery to ensure that they continue functioning properly, all the while attempting to remain hidden from humans, with the few humans who do know about them (such as Tom Thomas or Professor Eugenius) being obliged to keep their existence a secret.
Characters
Fixies
- Simka is a 9- to 10-year-old girl with orange hair. She is Nolik's sister and friend of Tom Thomas. She can disguise herself as a six-sided bolt. Her name is a play on "SIM card".
- Nolik is Simka's younger brother and friend of Tom Thomas. He is blue and can disguise himself as a semicircular screw with straight slots.
- Papus is Simka and Nolik's father. He is green and can disguise himself as a sharp-pointed bolt with a six-sided head.
- Masiya is Papus' wife and mother of Simka and Nolik. She is pink and can disguise herself as a wood screw with a round head and straight slots.
- Grandpus is Simka and Nolik's grandfather who teaches as a professor in Professor Eugenius' laboratory. He can disguise himself as a three-winged wingbolt.
- Fire (voiced by Jason Spisak in the English dub) is one of Simka's classmates. He is red and can disguise himself as a sharp-pointed bolt with a six-sided head.
- Digit is very smart and well-read in class. He is violet and can disguise himself as an LED bolt.
- Toola is very honest and considerate. She is yellow and can disguise herself as a German-type wingbolt.
- Verda is very crafty and only bad in class. Her name is derived from French vert ("green").
Other characters
- Tom Thomas is a 10-year-old boy who is curious and interested in technology. His father is a journalist and his mother is a dentist.
- Professor Eugenius is a professor and old friend of Grandpus. He is the first human to have discovered that fixies exist.
- Elisa is Professor Eugenius's secretary.
