The Lasses: Sophie and Margot

The Lasses is a Dutch duo that was formed in Amsterdam in 2012.

The group released its debut album The Lasses in early 2012. For their second album Daughters they collaborated with Dutch musicians Stijn van Beek , Alan McLachlan (The Scene) and Mirte de Graaff.[1] In 2014 they met with American musician Kathryn Claire, with whom they started touring across the American West coast. Together with Kathryn Claire they released their third album, Live at de Parel van Zuilen, in 2017.[2]

In August 2019, prior to a tour of the UK, their single 'The Tide' was premiered by British music magazine Folk Radio UK.[3] The song was the first single from their fourth album Undone, produced by Janos Koolen. The full album was released in Paradiso (Amsterdam) in October 2019[4][5] and received positive reviews in folk magazines all across Europe.[6][7][8][9][10][11][12] In that same month they performed live in Dutch TV programme Vrije Geluiden.[13]

The Lasses' album Undone made it to number one on the Euro-Americana chart,[14] a record chart for Americana music composed by European folk DJs.
