The Terrible Will of the Gods (神さまのの言うとと, Kami-sama no Iu Tōri) is a 2014 Japanese horror film directed by Takashi Miike. It is based on the first arc of the manga of the same name.] Muneyuki Kaneshiro and Akeji Fujimura. The film was released in the United States by Funimation. [2]High school student Shun Takahata spends most of his time playing violent video games. One morning at school, he complains that his life is completely boring, but then he suddenly finds himself forced to participate in a game of "Daruma-okoshi" (falling Daruma) with death as the penalty for defeat. When the Daruma doll turns toward the board, a button appears on its back that students can try to press to end the game, but if the doll turns around and sees someone moving, those students ' heads will explode. Everyone in the class except Xiong dies in this first game. After the game, Shun finds his childhood friend Ichika Akimoto, and they go to the school gym. There they play with Maneki-neko, where students dressed as mice try to throw a ball into a hoop attached to the collar of a giant cat doll, trying not to be eaten or crushed. The game was won with the help of Takeru Amai, a troubled classmate who seems to revel in seeing so much death and kills all the other survivors except Shun and Ichika after winning the game. All three are then rendered unconscious by the sleeping gas released by the giant cat doll. They wake up to find themselves, along with the other students, in a room inside a giant cube hovering over Tokyo, before the next challenge: all the students over Japan and everywhere else in the world undergo similar challenges, and a handful of survivors are placed in other cubes. The next game is Kagome Kagome, where students need to blindfold and guess which of the four floating wooden Kokeshi dolls is behind them within 10 seconds of the end of a short song. If they don't, they will be hit by a red laser and the dolls will use telekinesis to destroy their bodies. If the Kokeshi lose, they will explode, and one of them will release an answer key that opens the doors and lets the students through to the next level. Shun meets and saves Soko Takase by winning the games, and they reunite with Ichik and Yukio Sanada, whom they save from being killed by the fifth Kokeshi by holding hands.

The four join Eiji Oku and Kotaro Maeda in the next level, where they need to use their keys to unlock a giant smiling head. Amaya brings three more keys and kills the prisoner he brought into the room. The seven survivors use their keys, and the giant head rolls away to dig a tunnel into the next room. Meanwhile, each player is displayed on TV screens for others to see. The next game is Sirocuma, a white polar bear that appears to them in a frozen room. Students must answer the polar bear's questions honestly, otherwise they will be forced to single out the one they suspect is lying in order to kill it. Soko and Yukio are killed, and Shun soon realizes that the bear is a real liar and that its real color is black, so he wins the game and survives along with the other four students.

The final game, represented by Matryoshka, is a barrel game that must be completed before sunset. The remaining five draw lots, and the one who gets the red wand plays the "Devil". The devil must knock down a tin can from the wall and place it in the center of the court, and then catch the hidden players and throw them into the camera. According to the rules, you can't look the "Devil" in the eye. If you kick the jar in the center, it will explode and kill the nearest players. Takeru received the red wand, and soon the two students were caught, while Xiong found and put on the armor to hide his face. Shun falls into the sea, chaining Takeru to his armor. While Takeru pulls the armor up to avoid falling into the sea, Shun climbs up the wall, freeing himself from the armor. Both rush to the jar, and Xiong manages to kick the jar first, thus winning the game. Matryoshka shows that the explosion is actually a lie, and that none of them will die after losing the game. Matryoshka dolls treat the players to ice cream, and each of them learns their fate by reading the inscriptions on a wooden stick, and that the goal of the last game was just entertainment. Shun and Takeru are alive, while Ichika, Eiji, and Kotaro are killed by Matryoshka using lasers. Shun and Takeru go to the top of the cube, where they see the crowds cheering for them, while hikikomori, who was watching them from his room, comes out of his house, possibly to find the real identity of the "God".

Takeru celebrates while Shun kneels in despair at all his losses, declaring that "There is no God". One of the nesting dolls corrects him and suggests that these deadly games should have led them to "God", as he points him to a tramp who was also an observer of these games.Sota Fukushi-Shun Takahata Hiron Yamazaki — Ichika Akimoto Ryunosuke Kamiki — Takeru Amaya Mio Yuki — Shoko Takase Seta Sometani-Satake Jingi Irie — Eiji Oku Resuke Yamamoto — Mikinori Taira Minori Hagiwara — Yumi Taoko Sasuke Otsuru — Yukio Sanada Naoto Takahashi — Kotaro Maeda Nijiro Murakami — Haruhiko Yoshikawa Lily Frankie-The Homeless Man / God Nao Omori-Takumi Dori Sakurada-Class President (cameo) Atsuko Maeda-Maneki-neko (voice) Tsutomu Yamazaki-Shirokuma-Polar Bear (voice)
