Overview[edit]
The Trip follows host Nathan Thornburgh exploring destinations through “drinking with exceptional people around the world.”[8] Recent episodes have featured Thornburgh sharing smoked apple cider and caraway moonshine with bar owner Asya Khramchenkova in St. Petersburg, cocktails with Irish chef JP McMahon, and Japanese energy drinks with comedian W. Kamau Bell.[9][10][11] Other guests have included José Andrés, Samin Nosrat, and Jason Rezaian.[12] Since Bourdain's death, The Trip has altered its format slightly to move to an ongoing weekly show instead of a season-based show, and to focus on the interview aspect of the podcast.[13] In March 2019, the podcast platform Luminary announced that the Trip would be one of its early shows.[14]
